I think they left the carbs on because they need something to sell us next year.

i have an '05 vector with the tall windshield. I rode in the county in VERY cold temps and high winds across those potatoe fields. I found that while the hands stayed ok...the knees got a bit chilly.

We have a winnner!! Why introduce a new motor across the entire line-up? What if there are some issues? Would you want it to affect every three-holer? We get a year of testing before they release the 130 in the Vector next year. I bet that motor in the DBII chassis would run with an RX-1 out of the box. The current Vector is very close.

Warmest sleds (in order from warmest to coldest) I've owned. 2000 Polaris 600 Touring, 1999 Polaris XLT Touring, 1995 XLT touring, 1993 Polaris RXL, 1992 Polaris Classic touring, 1991 Indy 500, 1986 Polaris 440SS, 1975 440 TNT, 1970 Olympic, 2001 700 Venture, 2007 RS Venture. That's right, the newest touring sled is the coldest I've owned. 1000km's this year, and I haven't been toasty warm yet. Just bought -100 degree boots, hopefully my right foot won't be cold anymore. Can't figure out how to keep my shoulders, arms, and legs warm.

i can see why all those polar-asses were warm, none of them could break 60 mph.

I agree the apex style chassis is cold. It seems they are designed for warm weather riders not for -20C and colder.

I have no complaints about my carb version vector at all. The way I see it FI is just more to worry about. I have zero bog at all out of this motor. FI would just drive the cost even higher.

When Yamaha made the 4 cyl. a fuel injected sled, it lost a couple of m.p.g. That is why they left the 3 cyl. a carbed sled, for mileage. I bought the sled for mileage, nothing more or less.

The 4 Cylinder sled lost mileage because of a GEARING change from the RX-1 to Apex. Not Fuel Injection, there is no way the fuel injection is less efficient than carbs.

i think my 07 venture is cold.. because
there is no vents coming from the motor toward the rider
there is vent like louvers, but no holes for the warm to get thru

Put on the Yamaha "Touring Kit". It's actually flares that mount on the side of the hood. I have to admit it improved the cold ride on my 05 Vector more than I thought it would. Well worth the $$ IMO

The last Polaris I had, a 600 Twin, with the wife on the back, 115m.p.h. I haven't seen my 700 Venture or my RS Venture hit 100m.p.h. yet!

Now that just cant be true...???
If your venture has alittle miles on it will be around 95-100 on the dreamometer, but there is no way in hell a pol 600 will do 115mph.... My cusins edge 600 with pipes etc will not outrun me on my nytro and i go ~105mph on the dreamometer.. And a friends edge 700 wont pull away on top eighter... after GPS testing yesterday we came up with an avarage of 151km/h ~94mph.
Maybe your pol 600 twin had an EXTRADREAMY DREAMOMETER!!! and then why look at it?? Alittle off topic but to go more than 15mph faster than a sled with 120hp u NEED more HP!!!!! And if your RS venture is cold. TRY this windshield!!!! It is std on the longer venture in Sweden... Ugly like hell but great windprotection...
