2-Stroke Turbos vs 4-Stroke Supercharger

I should also mention my buddy with a stock compression Boondocker 2860 Apex would work me 3-4 sleds boost for boost on my old rx1ton with a 2871 10:1 at 13 psi. It took me about 16-17 to come even or pull him just a hair. Both sleds tuned well.
Both 162 Mavericks.
Now with my mcxpress Apex with a head shim and a 174 he will get me by only half a sled boost for boost. And now he has his Mav flipped so it grabs better. Everyone said I wold loose 10 mph with the 174 but at 13-14 psi I'm still seeing 81 mph track speeds up the hill

I guess we've had different experiences. IMO boost for boost and both good tunes/set up Apex will beat a m7/8 boost for boost. In my experiences and what I've seen with numerous races. Just like the ones I mentioned. I also forgot to mention that I wax my buddy with his tm7 both at 12-13 psi and both tuned well. The turbo M1000 and d&D 1200's are a different story. I rode with a D&D turbo 1200 yesterday that I was excited about racing until he rolled it down a double cliff on each side chute nailing rocks the whole way down. I knew something was wrong when Paul (Impulse) and I were sitting at the top after climbing it and hearing braaaa, braaaa, braaaa, then silence, then metal and plastic scraping on rocks I looked at Paul and said "that's not good" :die Paul then radioed down and said "you need to get a Nytro" :tg: Sorry to get off topic.

I've riden with lots of boondocker turbos and aero 66 and my sled at 14lbs can beat any turboed m/7/8 dragon 7/8 that I've riden with. One m8 even had a garret 30something turbo. With the rear mount they get me a little at the start, but in 50 feet I catch them.
I do have to say that I am impressed with the 2 stroke turbo's and how far they've come though. I've riden lots of them and they still feel underpowered after getting off my turbo at 20lbs;)

I think mulot is still looking to payback monster7 ... ;):D

I'm a Yammie guy so I don't know why I am even discussing this ... but I'm pretty damn sure with a decent intercooled turbo kit ... in an M ... or even better ... in an XP chassis ... at say 10-12lbs and 240-260hp ... I could handily beat up on an Apex at the same 10-12lbs and 240-260hp ... both factory chassis ... in a steep-deep-powder hill climbing situation ... all you have to do is look at the 2008 SnoWest deep powder challenge results ... and add horsepower.

Now your speculating. I'm going off what I've seen and raced. I'll go with that. Again thanks for the vids. ;)! I'm done.

I did watch some 1K and 1200 turbo's at fairview beat up on some really respectable yammis while only running at 16lbs. Glenn Halls 1200's were unreal (F1200 and M1200), the fastest 2st's out there PERIOD. For what they had in them, stock chassis with turbo's TUNED WELL they ripped!!!!!!!

But this was the heavy hitters such as Pure logic, shane stanger, glenn Hall.

the other sleds with the average joe schmo tunning on them couldnt quite get them to run as good, go figure. But yet they still were ALL chasing lindermans 1720 turboless 2stroke!

What most people dont know is that I got the privlege of helping brent tune his 900 cat turbo (which I have one of myself) in a bone stock 151 MC chassis with a 3071 garrett off the side runnin 21lbs of boost with 2 stages of NO2, 400+++ HP which rolled down the hill while riding DOUBLE! out to race bowl, After watching many runs with it at the parking lot I know it would have been the fairview shootout winner, I have never seen a sled run like that thing!!!!!!

Competition is great :) now we have to shape up when running head to head with the 2smokers, now they can be boosted - you never know.

Around here we've had 3-4 seasons with no other competition than another Yamaha. Thanks for the vids they did really cool me down in the summer heat hahaha.

In the hill climb drag racing video clips ... all Camoplast 162" tracks ... TM7 2" all the rest were 2.25" ... mine a 16 wide Maverick the others 15 wide Challengers ... none were 2.5"s ... the last two video links ... drag racing on the flats ... were originally posted by monster7 or mulot and I don't remember all the specifics ... the Apex (17-18lbs boost) and TM7 (14-15lbs boost) both sleds running the same track.

Note: I have drag raced the TM7 in my video clips ... out in the flats ... several times in the last two seasons ... no nitrous ... boost-for-boost ... and won ... pointing them both up-a-hill in deep-soft-snow causes a significant performance difference and gives and even greater advantage to the TM7 because of the weight and the chassis design differences I mentioned earlier ... for those who are curious about the "other guys" ... there are some very educational 2-Stroke Turbo tuning threads over on SnoWest.
