- 2003 Yamaha RX-1
I have a 2003 RX-1 I bought a few years ago, it`s always had an ugly sounding idle that the dealer couldn`t fix.
Recently started idling rough and backfiring after I shut it off. While looking over the sled, noticed the coils are loose and arcing. Pull them out to inspect and I notice they are Mitsubishi Part No. F6T549. I can`t find any reference to these coils as a recommended substitute for the supposedly faulty original coils.
So my question is, has anyone else used these coils, and are they appropriate for my machine? Or would I be better off with aftermarket coils? Don't ride it enough to justify the $125+tax for Yamaha coils.
