2003 RX1 primay clutch rattle

question for any one that know. 2003 RX1 at idle which seems to be around 1600rpm the primay clutch rattles, Dealer said turn the idle up more. Any idle where it should be idling at(what RPM). Is it normal for the clutch to rattle l believe its the weights making the noise? Any help is would be great.

They all rattle, i asked the same question when i got my 03 last year. Enjoy the sled!!

If you do a search, you will see that it is pretty normal in the early RX's due to the clutch as well as the gear reduction system. I bumped my idle up to 1900rpms and the sound was much quieter and starting was easier too.

03's have straight cut gear reduction which is stronger then the 04+ angled cut gear reduction. Enjoy the noise as confidence it will never break

On top of the engine right above the carburetors in the center is a gold colored Phillips screw. I believe it was right to raise the idle and left to lower.

thanks a lot. i was wondering if that was the idle screw. previous owner cant find his manual.

The best thing to do is sync. the carbs youll be amazed how much quiter your clutch is then adjust up idle a little.
