Hi guys,

A friend of mine has a 2004 RX 1 that he is putting a two inch handlebar riser on . will he need to extend the throttle cable or will the original one do.

Thanks

Stock should work with a 2inch. Any taller and he will need the one from a 2005 RX1 Mountain.

I installed a 2" ROX riser on my 05 warrior. I needed to get a mountain cable. With engine running turning bars everything apeered? to work fine. On my 1st right turn I went full throdal into a tree... 10mph in back yard, turned, it went wide open.Tors worked but it was to late. Had to call LANNO new R & L bulkhead, spindle, A arms It wasn't my best day. GO BUY a cable its cheeper.

I need one as well...need the one from a 2005 RX1 Mountain.
Does someone have a part number.
My dealer can't find it.
Thanks

should be in the parts fiche link on tyhome page bottom left.

got mine no problem and it is long enough for my rox extendable riser. just need to make some cable extensions for the wiring.

I used the yamaha parts finder, 8FW-26311-00-00, look up a 05 Mountain under control cable.

Find a new dealer he's an idiot if he can't look it up on the fish you can do it just go to yamaha motors , sleds , parts you can access everything they can

I installed a 2" riser and I had to re-route my cable do to it interfered with the TORS on right turns.
Same thing first right turn RPM's shot up not good.

installed 2 and half inch riser on my 03 mtn, didnt change anything works great, and i can stand comfortably,im 6 foot tall,id like it higher, but friggin expensive replacin cables!

I went with all mountain cables, throttle was like $25 cnd and the choke and parking brake were even cheaper. The only expensive one was the brake as i went with a braided stainless line

RX pat,

I see you live in ontario, not exactly sure where bethany is, but I've heard of it before..

where did you buy your cables? I just bought my rx1 and im having trouble finding good replacement parts anywhere but the dealer..

I rolled it over this weekend and I'm looking for some plastic peices that i busted up, i dont mind a bit of a drive if the prices are right...

I live in a town called snowball, close to barrie, ontario.

thanks for the help..

order the cowel peices from port parts. i just bought a headlight mask for mine and with taxes it was $232.00 and all my other plastic is still good. might be able to find them used on e-bay but i doubt it as any rollover at all trashes these parts.

I put about a total of six inches of rise on mine and I just had to buy a throttle cable extension for like 35 bucks Canadian. The brakes had to be re-routed, choke had to be taken out of the gold bracket, and electrical harness zip ties to the frame had to be let go, only the ones right by the steering post.
