2005 Battery... No new lightweight battery?

For those who have picked up their 05 RX-1's.... Did you get a lightweight battery?

FYI the only sled's that get the lighter weight battery are the ones with no reverse

Thats O.K. because you can get the really light battery(even lighter than the 05' battery) for anywhere between $15 and $50 from a local battery center!!

Can someone explain Yamahas' logic on not on reverse or is this the same logic as no grease zerks?

I guess they figure if you want reverse you dont worry about weight as only old guys own sleds with reverse!! LOL

as far as the zerks... THEY ARE JUST THAT DUMB!!

The rep I talked to last spring said same as convert, only non-reverse models get the lightweight battery.
According to him, Yam says reverse model customers ride in extreme cold weather more often and the regular battery has a little more cushion for extended cranking for like whewn it's -30 F. Same with mountain guys might not see -30 as often as other areas.

And he said no lightweight battery on any Vector, I guess that engine takes more to crank with longer stroke.
