I have an 05 rx1 2700 miles and I have a strange problem. First 10 miles from where im staying for snowmobiling machine is running absolutely 100%. Then all of a sudden it starts bogging basically through the whole rpm but mostly in the midrange. I can then floor it and it is fast, but not as fast as it should be. Then eventually if I am hard enough on it it goes into some limp mode so I slow down and then it goes back to running how it was. Top speed around 48mph before it goes into limp. What's crazy is I drove it for 90 miles total today, as soon as I got within 10 miles of where I'm staying bam it's running absolutely perfect again. I have no clue what is going on, I've tried putting heet in the tank to see if there was water, didn't seem to make a difference have you ever seen something like this. I just cleaned the carbs and resynced, like I said it runs perfect then it doesn't, then it does again. It never ran good when I was further than 10 miles from home. The elevations were the same so I don't think it's that. I have put 93 octane and 91 with no ethanol, didn't make a difference, I have a new belt properly adjusted. Let me know if you have any ideas or things I should check (hopefully not too deeply involved in disassembly very cold outside)

have the clutches ever been cleaned? they do plug up with belt dust over time.

use compressed air and blow into all the nooks and crannies on the clutch. don't stand too near as all the old belt dust will come out and your face will be black with it. i know better and still end up with a mouth full of dust at least once a year.

TORS issue? I had an '05 RX-1 and at one point it started acting up intermittently. My symptoms included backfiring, amongst other things. It would start just fine, but after running awhile, it would act up. Just throwing it out there.
