Just raced a stock 09 Z1 turbo (600mi) yesterday. Two apexes gave it a try. I raced it with my completly stock 06 GT (3000mi). I would get the hole shot and he would pass me at the 600-700 foot mark. My sled would only hit 10,200 rpms. The second was a 08 GT (1300mi) with excell echaust and clutched. Again the 08 would get the whole shot and stay ahead to the 900-1000ft mark and then the Z1 would creep pass. The 08 would hit 10,300 rpms. All sleds were studded. Both Apexes had 192 pics and the Z1 had 144 I believe. I rode the Z1 and the power is gradual no instant throttle response like our apexes. His one side scoop (directs air into motor) keeps falling off at high speeds. I'm not impressed with this sleds power considering it is a turbo. I waw 99mph and the owner said he hit 109mph. The conditions were not the best with wet loose snow on the lake and the temp was 35 degrees.

I've rode and raced a Stock (with 190+ picks) 2010 Z1 turbo and it doesn't even compare with mine. I got him on all aspects (hole shot , mid and top-end) I am not impressed. We switched and I rode it for about 20 miles or so and it reminded me of a stock 96 VMAX 4, and ride comfort doesn't even compare (he has to work on this). The sound is like my riding lawnmower as well. I am sure with alot of tweaking he can get those 177 horses to start working for him.

In all honesty do you really think 150hp can run with 177hp ? ?
Yes I do and i have done it with a stock z1 turbo. 177 hp into diamound drive don't always come to ground with too much. the more you run the z1 the slower it goes. The heat builds in the clutches and belt bad and looes big time.

how about z1 with reprogrammed box?
I would like to know how much better a z1 is that has been reprogrammed? I think he claimed 217hp? I assume my stock (except proline clutching, slidekicks, and studs) will get spanked? How about if I have airbox, pc3, and exhaust? Or if I get a Yamacharger?

You will get spanked... But the AC will not run like the hp it advertises. A 220 hp turbo Doo or 220hp Yamaha will run and hide from what I have seen around here.

I have run a 09 Z1 turbo numerous times and with just my mods I can pull him 0 to 90 or so then he creeps by even now with my new clutch setup he can get by me. This is a base model Z1 so I'm guessing he has the 1 inch track. The conditions weren't the best for me this week soft loose wet snow had problems getting much better than 98 or so gps last day it firmed up quite a bit but he left already and I saw 106 gps still not ideal conditions didn't get riding till 2 pm due to someone having a mishap but he said he saw 103 gps first thing in the morning which was alot better. They are fast but not as fast as you'd think considering. He did say the dealer dropped his rear suspension some from alot of complaints of no hole shot and said his low to mid is much better but I will say that my LTX sucks as far as speed or traction in real loose wet conditions and it robs alot of top speed.
