I have a 2006 attak
weight 215 w/ogear
spring tension cam pos 7 clip3
valve on hardest still bottom out.
I think it needs a revalve my ride in on spring is only 30mm and when I hit the big ones it buck me pretty good. Compared to me 2003 edge this machine is soon going to be up for sale unless you guys can help me.

did you take the shock out and move the clip on it if not take out shock take to yammi dealer and put it on the 3rd clip. oops just say clip 3 sorry you should get heavier spring if your still bottom out on 3rd clip

why springs?
what am I missing, everyone talks about changing spring tension. I have owned five sleds and everyone that had this problem needed stiffer shock valving. DOES YAMAHA do something special with their shocks are they not high pressure gas like ryde fx and fox? To me by changing the spring tension all it will do is compress then fling my lik a bucking bronco without slower damping. If i have missed the boat on this one please explain because everyone seems to want to change to a stiffer spring.

The valve you are talking about is the adjuster knob on the side of the tunnel I'm assuming. That adjustment is for rebound only, it has no effect on bottoming. If you are in the #3 clip position and have the cam adjuster set at 7 you are at the springs max. for stiffness. I too, out weigh the stock spring on my attak. I have the big boy spring on and after 1800 miles last winter I was still bottoming on the bigger woops. I have had the shock revalved now and hope this will stop the bottoming. This sounds like the way you my need to go. Hope this helps.

yes, you need a revalve to slow compression rate. and the big boy spring.

ID GIVE YA $5000 FOR THAT PIECE OF #*$&@? jus kidding. i switched from a rev 800 and had the same problem. im 200 lbs . changed the clip and it help some. easy fix was to go to a big boy spring. cheap to buy, easy to install , problem is now gone and love the sled. no more hard hits in the ditches.northernattak said:I have a 2006 attak
