True. I recently had a Sportsman 500 brought to me with a no start after a stator from royal distributing was installed. I checked the timing with a timing light while cranking and it was firing about 70 degrees before top dead center.did he use an oe stator or an rm (aftermarket) stator? seen on vector posts that the wires are backwards for the pick-up coil in some cases.
So I simply switched the pickup coil wires in the plug at the CDI box, and that fixed it.
