- 2018 Sidewinder LTX-SE, 2019 Ski-Doo 900T Enduro (not as fun as Sidewinder)
Just looking for any thoughts on the following:
I've got a 2006 Apex RTX with 1800 miles on it and it's a great sled.
I have the opportunity to pick up a 2013 Apex X-TX with 600 miles on it, a bunch of accessories and warranty through 2020. They are going to give me $3,000 for my Apex on trade and sell me the 2013 for $8,000.
Is it worth it as far as a ride and handling upgrade to my current Apex? Will I notice a big difference?
I am a trail rider and don't go off trail much. Will the X-TX be better or worse on trails compared to a 121 or 128" tracked Apex?
Is it a good deal? I've been checking everywhere and no one is close on price, mileage and warranty for a 2013.

Here's my advice. Have your wife help you change the anti-freeze in your car so she gets coolant on her hands. Then at nite steal her ring, blame it on the anti-freeze & run to your dealer & ride happily ever after....the end!

Seriously though, you only have 1800 miles on your sled. Sounds like you don't put on big miles each year. I think there's a HUGE difference in sleds plus 4-year warranty is hard to beat. If you plan on riding more then i think it's a great deal & upgrade. My 2 cents...

with the tipped up rails , and power steering = big difference !
I did the most common upgrades to make the experience even better .
riser, wrp seat, hyfax saver wheels , 13mm sway bar , and the star kit .
with the short track Apex , I wouldn't go off trail , but with the XTX ,I can break trail .
I wouldn't believe it un less I experienced that first hand .
go for it , it may be the last sled you will ever need or want !

I paid 12,400 canadian for my 2011 Apex XTX in 2013 so I'm thinking then that the 2013 is a trade plus 5,000 dollars because 11,000 US is a steep price to pay for a two year old used sled. I love my XTX all the quirks of the earlier Apexs have disappeared, 10,000 miles with zero issues, the bushings are still tight the donuts don't leak, hand warmers are awesome, power steering is the best thing since sliced bread. I added snowtrackers, duponts and the Star kit. The handling is as close to perfect as you can get. The ride is greatly improved with the Star kit but in reality the skid worked well for what it was. The harder you rode it the better it worked, it is sold as a rough trail sled! The stutter bumps were the problem and the Star softens them up and turns the skid into one that rides soft enough but is still able to take the big hits. I found no need for a risor, seat, larger sway bar and chose the duponts instead of low snow wheels. I think the 06 may be more supple ride wise, then the XTX. The XTX will suck up rough trail better. Handling of the XTX is like a short track more or less. EPS makes a long day of ridding easier on the shoulders and arms.
For 5,000 and a 06 sled I'd jump on it.

I would run not walk to take that deal I had an 07 apex GT and upgraded to a 12 XTX and I don't think I will be able to find a more perfect sled. I say yes its worth every penny and then some!
