2006 Vector cold starting problems

Mine 08 ltx is the same. I have owned Yamahas for the last 25 yrs and have never seen carb on a machine that was used regularly need cleaning. This includes after our short summer here in Newfoundland as well. As for syncing the carbs, aren't all connected via mechanical linkage/rod after the throttle cable? I don't think you will see much, if any difference, from wear on this item, UNLESS they were tinkered with before. They will all wear the same in my opinion. obviously, if this just started happening a season ago, something has changed. Cleaning a carb is an easy fix and I'm interested to see what you found or didn't find.

these are cv carbs and use engine vacume to pull up the slides, so periodically they need to be synched again. usually a sign is when they start running rough.

Well these carb'd 3 cylinders with the teenie weenie pilot jets (and internal orifices) need to be kept as clean as possible. When you THINK you got them clean by hand you find out the hard way that they aren't. Those pilot jets are so hard to properly clean it's easiest to throw the old ones away and install new ones. Proper synch is so important as well.
