You might have to pull the engine mount bolts to rock the engine enough to make clearance for the cover. The motor doesn't need to come out.

Three mounts. Two in the front under air box and one long bolt in the rear.

One more thing, sorry this sled has been giving me nothing but problems. I but the stator in. Went aftermarket because I did not want to spend all that money on it. Put everything back together and hooked everything up and now I don't have spark. Any ideas on what to do?
