Put on a little over 50 miles today on the 2007 RTX ER all ditch riding in crusty snow. Rode the first 25 miles completely box stock with stock skis, windshield, etc. The front end & rear end seem to work very well together. Front floats set at 65 psi with front end off the ground. The rear end setup exactly as it came from the factory. It did bottom out once or twice, but adding the anti-bottoming stoppers will help eliminate that. After 25 miles I bolted on the Slydog trail skis with 6" carbides & the ski savers. This got rid of all the darting and dropping through the crusty snow that made the sled unpredictable and scary at times with the stock skis! Set the ski alignment in between 1/8" toed-in to "0" or neutral. Then bolted in our Stage 2 clutch kit setup running 10,200 or so (knowing that it will pick up RPM with more miles on it). Also put on a taller windshield. The handwarmers worked great, much better than 2006! The 22/38 gearing definitely makes it quicker down low and doesn't seem to hurt top end too terribly much. We have a 1 mile long road that you can run all out for 1/2-3/4 mile on which had ice underneath with 1-2" of hard crusty snow on top and I saw 128 on the dream meter @ 10,400 RPM with low miles on the sled. This sled is a hoot to ride in the rough stuff, but we had our 2007 Phazer FX as well and that thing is just a blast in the rough ditches! Now I want the Phazer weight with the Apex HP!!
