hey guys
new to the forum/Yamaha sleds
been thinking about buying a Phazer shortly here
keep hearing about these "updates"
what exactly do they consist of?
does Yamaha do them for free?
any way to check to see if they are done if u buy used?

There was a steering nut recall, and a snowing kit update.
Also Yamaha will pay to install a fan if the unit heats up on you. Have it done regardless in my opinion.
They will also put on the tunnel side block off kit that is standard on the 08'.
These should be done for no charge. And if you are wondering if they have been done any dealer can pull up the history of the unit with the serial number.
They also have the cold start update but we are yet to install one because we have not had any complaints on that issue.

The only update that the yamaha dealer did before it left the shop was the stearing recall. I believe everything else you are reading about has been broken during riding (ex.rear link, cold start kit, etc.) and yamaha has been covering through warranty. Hope this helps some..

New clips inside the air intake silencer, re tighten the front left side engine mount nut, and installing snow protector brackets to keep the front frame protector in tact when bombing through heavy snow.
