Differences between 2007 Phazer GT and 2016 Phazer RTX??

Hi all,

I'm in the process of purchasing a 2016 Phazer RTX.

I have pretty good familiarity with the 2007 model but have not kept pace with changes and improvements over the years.

Is there a post which captures the changes that Yamaha has made to the Phazer since being introduced?

Just want to understand how the 2016 will differ from the 2007 and if there are any updates that I need to check on after I pick it up.

There might be some differences in gearing and suspension between the GT and RTX in general but Phazers pretty much stayed the same through all years. I know that a Lo-OP message appears sometimes when you start the sled on later years or if you actually have low oil pressure. They switched to blue coolant in 2010 or so and the gas tank got smaller due to being double walled after 08 or 09.

I used to own a 2010 RTX, there was a few upgrades, ecu upgrade for starting better, cold weather relays, the Rtx has a nice rear clicker shock upgrade, fox floats up front and has a top gear of 18 compared to the 20 on the GT, it also has reverse, some o7 didn't come with reverse, that's all I can remember, was a nice sled.
