I am going to be adding a 2" riser to my 07" RTX.

After doing a bunch of searching in this forum, I have found that in the 2007 era the "standard" Apex models had a 4" riser, the RTX had a 6" riser and the MTX had an 8" riser. I also found that the riser could be extended by a max of 2 more inches without needing to buy longer throttle cables and brake lines. So my question is... what model is the 2" max extension based on?

Since the RTX riser is 2" taller than the "standard" Apex model, does that mean I will need to extend my cables since the bars have technically already been raised 2" above "stock" by due to the taller RTX riser?

I can say from my experience that IF you have to extend a cable, you ONLY need to extend the Throttle Cable.

The rest of the cables, including the brake cable, you simply reroute & all will be fine.

The reason I say this is because the best you can do for yourself is raise the bars so you can stand up and keep your back straight and your elbows slightly bent while having a firm grip on the bars.
That makes it SUPER comfortable to stand up in rough stuff & you can fly better than you can imagine.
(MUCH easier on your back also!)
I don't ever get sore from riding anymore at all.

When you are sitting, the bars are closer to (not at) shoulder height, which is where you as a human have the best leverage.
This makes it MUCH easier to ride sitting also.
(No sore shoulders, no matter how much your ride.)

If you are going to raise the bars, why not take them to optimum?

In my experience, anything less is a waste of money.
It will get better with the riser shorter, but nowhere near as good as you CAN get it.

The possible throttle cable is the only thing you would have to change.
Kevin at Port can send you the exact factory quality cable the next day.
(I wasted money on 3 different cables until Kevin took care of me.)

As a direct answer to your question, I do not know exactly, Kevin at Port should know the exact answer about the cables from model to model.
Every time he has helped me out, I am amazed at the depth of knowledge the guy has.

Once you find out, post it here for us!

Hope this helps!
