2007 yamaha rtx

service manual says track deflection should be .98 to 1.18 inches with a 22 lb. weight hanging from the center. Popular opinion is a little looser results in less wear to slide runner, but not so loose that you get ratcheting.

Do you add the weight to the center of the track or just one track clip?

i just hook the digital fishing scale on the track clips and pull down til my scale reads 22lbs and/or have somebody measure the distance if you can;t do it by yourself!!! well picture shows roughly centre of the sliders, a bit to the front of the upper tunnel idler wheel. and shows the scale hooked in the track window.

I add weight to the center of the track. If you compare this to using a fish scale (I also have a fish scale), the fish scale method produces a much tighter track.
