I recall reading about the differences between the exhaust/intake cams in this post. Something about the intake cam having/being a single ring and the exhaust cam having/being a double ring. Not sure if applicable or not but might be something similar to distinguish between the two.

both cams have only 1 ring. I did notice that on other models, does not apply to mine. Thank you for responding. I believe after looking at my pictures that I have it correctly installed.

Can you tell me if the dimples you are referring to are on the gear end or the opposite end and are they indeed on the very end or the surface where the lobes are?

According to the OEM parts diagram, the intake and exhaust cams are the same.

I'm looking at a 16 1049 so it may be different.
