2008 40th Apex LTX GT Riders??

Good stuff guys!

I would consider the new RTX but I hate the flames (See Pic) and the little windy so I guess change might be good!

I love our GT but sometimes wish we had bought a rtx, every now and then you just wanna have fun and the RTX seems like it might be more fun. The white GT does look amazing but you could always change the decals on the RTX like your current sled. I personally am disappointed with the Ohlins shock, the only time we use the electric adjust is when my father and I switch sleds. Just my 2 cents, good luck choosing.

P.S. You have done a great job with the RTX.

I went from an 05 Viper with an ExpertX to an 08 LTX GT. It will not handle the same as the Viper at all but the ride and power make up for it. Once I got it set up for me it was better but I am still having trouble with the steering - I tried Simmons - they were ok but not great, Slydogs with Triple Points - the faster I went the harder it was to turn - would not push but was actually hard to steer at speed. Stock skis were ok but were a bit darty - might just try the stock ones with a dually. Other than that I think it is a great sled for cruising and trails but not so much for messing around off trail.

Anyone know if the 08 Apex has the 13mm sway bar in it?

The O8 Apex GT still has the 11mm sway bar in it. I put the 13mm in mine and love it. CAn't wait for this season to try all my other gooddies.

Sway Bar

I am interested in installing the larger sway bar but don't know where to get. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys!

Check out any of our TY SPONSORS under the Preferred Vendors list on the main page or try WTB / in the TY Classifieds. It will only take you about 10 minutes to change out. :flag:

Pioneer performance sells the swaybar. Worth it's weight in gold.

the difference in handling from the 11mm bar to 13mm bar is NIGHT AND DAY..

personally i would like an even thicker swaybar.. but you give up too much ride over uneven bumps..

The ohleins shock is overrated.. Ive had mine rebuild, revalved and resprung and it still isnt perfect and that stupid adjuster does almost nothing from top to bottom.. it was more of a selling point than anything

The sled in a handful in the tight and twisties. If you like to ride tight trails hard this is not the sled for you.

I would personally agrue that as Not Being Quite True as I have No Trouble with it at all through the twisties, As a matter of fact I even ride Double on mine.

I think the truth being said is ....Every Rider has his own style of riding and you will get a lot of different opinions on that one. And that could be said about a few different models as well on how they are ridden.

Opinions are everything my north of the border friend, I just gave my. Everyone's perceptions on a sleds handling capabilites are usually very different.

You Are ABSOLUTEY CORRECT my South Of The Border Friend, I only gave mine as well just to show another opinion. Sorry if mine came across the wrong way to you as that wasn't my intension. :flag:

No offense taken here :yam:

After almost 30 years riding Ski-Doo I'm now waiting for my '09 Apex LTX GT to arrive. Did previously want the Nytro SE but with temps in the -30's here and issues with front end on that model backed away from it. This post, and some others, interest me as it deals with what I'm getting. The Ulmer clutch kit interests me however a couple items bother me.... wish I had known about them before I put money down. 11 vs 13mm sway bar? Poor handling with stock ski's. Seemingly rapid wear on the hyfax bars(I did order the marginal snow kit.. not sure if it'll help) and non-replaceable bearings in the skid frame wheels?
Still have my MXZ800X and Rev 600HO in the stable if need be. Hope I'm not kicking myself next year for not getting the 1200 4-tec.

I have a 2007 rtx , added 136 1.5 track and extension , had Pioneer revalve the rr shocks , added the supercharger and the 13mm sway bar *

Best sled (ride & fastest ) combo I have ever rode !

I'm considering picking up either a 2008 40th LTX GT or 2009 LTX GT and I'm wondering what you guys think of this sled? What did you ride before you went to the Apex LTX GT? Is the trail riding in rough trail as good as they say it is?

Currently riding a 2007 Apex RTX which I love!

Thanks for the feedback!

I have an '07 Attak GT and if it was an RTX, w/Pro-Active CK, I'd be extending it.
