NEED SOME ADVICE..... I LOVE MY NEW SLED, THE ONLY PROBLEM THAT I SEE WITH IT SO FAR IS THE SUSPENSION. I'VE ONLY OWNED REVS AND THEY RIDE LIKE A DREAM,THE FX NYRTO SEEMS REALLY HARSH IN THE REAR. I WEIGH 230LBS. AND EVERY TIME I RIDE IT I FEEL LIKE I'M BEEING THROWN OFF THE SLED.... WHAT SHOULD I DO ??????????Len Todd

You bought a RTX. That is set up for Ditch Bangin'. You may have to do some serious shock revalving or shock replacement to truely get it where you like it. Either that or stick to the Groomed Trails where there are no bumps.

Most likely Yamaha has once again used a single stage valve stack in all of the shocks on the Nytro RTX.
With a single stage, the ride gets very harsh in order to control bottoming (if trying to use a single stage for a rough trail application).
What you need to do is get your shocks revalved with multi-stage valving so the slow/mid speed damping is reduced (softer ride on smaller bumps), but the high and very high speed damping is increased (won't bottom out on big bumps).
With the right valve stacks in the shocks, Yamaha sleds can ride just as well as a Skidoo (Skidoo uses 4 stage valving in their shocks).

Are there more adjustments on the rear shocks once removed from the sled?
