2008 LTX 40th Anniversery

Hey Guys, I have a chance to buy a brand new 08 LTX 40th. Are there still issues with ice tearing out the wiring to the shock? Also has the shock been revalved. I know there have been some issues on the 06 and 07 models. Thanks for any info I can get.

Have an 06 GT, I redid my wiring per the 07 update and haven't had any problems, your 08 was already updated, as far as the revalve, I believe the 08's has been revalved compared with the 06 and 07's, thats a nice machine, pull the trigger if the price is right!

The ice and snow build still breaks the wire for the shock in the 08's

as long as you dont try to adjust the shock after you just start the sled you will be fine, you need to run the sled a bit to break up some of the ice under the tunnel. seems like a no brainer but alot of people arent used to the ice build up on a 4 stroke. the only cable i broke was because i forgot to unhook it once when i took the suspension out. i have a regular 08 ltx and i came off a er i wish i would have bought a 136 right away, they just ride so much better but they are a little sloppy in the tight trails compared to a 121.

Just buy the extended warranty for as long as you figure you will own it. It's the cheapest insurance you will ever buy. Check Port Yamaha,they have the best rates.

i hope you like it. i just bought a 09 on weds from port yamaha, just waiting to take it out and ride. no snow around here, i'll have to wait another week for a road trip to the u.p.

You can have 1/2 of our snow , we have had 10-12 ft this year !!! ALL lake effect , You just live on the wrong side of the big lake !!!!!

I thought the same about Ohlins (Viper S and SRX) until I pick-up my Apex RTX, wow those fox floats are something else!!!!! Taking the GYTR's off my wife's Phazer and replacing with Fox air shock.
