Looking for advice. My front frame broke at the weld behind where the top of the shock mounts. Yamaha tells me they have no documents records of this ever happening to anyone else. It not a secret that the 2008 had frame problems. I am not under warranty and a new front frame seems to be about $450.00. Has anyone heard this break before?
Thanks
Thanks

Did the sub frame warp? you can tell by looking at the flat plate in the center that has a large hole in it. If it's straight and flat it probably didn't warp and then i would fix the broken weld. If the plate is kinked at all replace the sub frame just my opinion...

I've never seen a break reported on TY. Bends yes but no breaks.

About 6500 miles total at this point.
Four belts (still on fourth)
1 set of secondary buttons
Front end bushings (ulmer)
Ball joints (they said they were fine, we'll try again this year)
Upper rod ends (same story)
Tie rod ends ( we'll see)
Two sets of spindle bushings. (Went aftermarket)
Two seat covers (seams gave way) first covered second, nope.
Both Rad brackets (covered)
Center shock shaft worn (no sir)
Front arm mounting holes egged (we'll see butdoubt it)
Probably 20+ loose rivets.
Two sets of exhaust donuts.
Rear sissor cracked (no again)
Rear crackedmounts cracked (both sides)
Tunnel shows cracking at each traction scallop.
Header pipe cracked at muffled joint, then completely grenaded the three into one section, yes it's loud, very loud.
Seal in the chain case (covered)
Four oil and filter changes.
The first 2000 miles were trouble free, after about 2500-3000 it started to come unglued and the cracks started appearing in the suspension. Not acceptable for an RTX in my opinion. These are the things that will drive the aggressive riders away. Add up all that stuff (not to mention aftermatket things for handling improvements) and I could have rebuilt several two smokers.
I think that's the major stuff. Good news it I'm still on my original plugs, so I've really saved quite a bit there.
This was supposed to go to the "How many miles on your Nytro" thread. Not sure what happened. Maybe my phone jacked it up.
