2008 Yamaha Nytro
Hello everyone, I recently purchased my first Yamaha!!. a 2008 fx nytro (not rtx) and am having trouble with bottoming the rear suspension. there are no clickers in the rear of the sled so I was wondering what everyone is doing to stiffen up the rear a bit? I tried turning the front arm shock adjustment (using the supplied shock adjustment tool in the accessory bag) with no luck. It was way to hard to turn it. Am I doing something wrong? does the sled have to be in the air or on the ground to make this adjustment?

Thanks for your help in advance!!

Chris

Congratulations on purchasing the Nytro. For starters, take a look at the 2nd titled posting on the first page of this FX Nytro General Talk forum. You will find this on page (1). The title is FX Nytro FAQ's. These are called stickies. Open and scroll down to suspension or any other title of interest. There is a lot of good information in there.

I do not own a 2008 but I guess you have rear torsion spring that you can set at (S=soft), (M=Standard), or (H=Hard). Turn this adjuster on both sides of your suspension to a harder setting.

Try to obtain an owners manual. It has good diagrams and talks about the spring preload on your center shock. Increasing the spring preload will harden the suspension.

Wondering the same thing. The rear of my nytro bottoms out way too often and I don't feel that i'm riding that hard. Both torsion springs set to H on mine as well.
