Stock w/s is too low for riding in cold weather. Has anyone tried the tall(16")
SMA-8FT96-30-BK?
The thing I don't know if the support rods have to be used according to
Yamaha. Has anyone tried this w/s without the support rods?
How does the width of this w/s compare to stock?

cobra makes one that does not need the support rods. here are a couple of pics of one on a attak...sorry i do not have better ones. if you look close you can see the other attak has the stock windshield on it...

Not a definitive answer, but when I bought my sleds, the one from my Rage fit just fine on the Vector and the Rage had a tall one on it. I don't think there are any supports. These are of course on the prior deltabox frame, though.

I hear there is a trade off with the COBRA in that what you gain in height
you loose in width' and then your hands are cold.
Has anyone gone to the SMA-8FT06-21-BK or the 22 Medium tint/black same
except for clear or tint? Surely there must be someone out there that has
gone this route.
Thanks

Did you have to use the support rods with the extra tall?
How do you like the extra tall?

I went with the Yamaha medium windshield with tint. Much better protection than stock and looks better, too. It flanges out more to protect the hands better and is even a bit taller I believe.
