Sled was bought new this year 2700km on now. After full throttle operation for short bursts will backfire and shoot flames out pipes periodically on deceleration. Had it back to dealer and they cant find anything wrong? Seems to be worse with warmer weather. Could it be exhaust gaskets wiyh only 2700km?

Yes i cant believe they didnt check the donuts. Fire it up and put your hands with leather gloves on over the pipes and if it stalls there is no leaks. More then likely it will keep running and the donuts are gone.

After a long hard pull mine will do the same. I've seen previous posts on here that Apexs are a little rich on top.

BottleRocket I'll do the leather glove and see what happens. I've run with other Apex's and not seeing the 12-18'' flames that can come out of mine! Also only getting about 160km on a tank before really looking for fuel. I wgh 230lbs and drive hard.....maybe shouldnt expect any better? Thanks for comments.

Exh donuts , It will get worse and louder until it is fixed.

x3 on the dounuts. Could be a cracked pipe also. If you put it on a stand and gas it then chop the throttle will it backfire? Every time my donuts where bad this is what happened.

Did the leather glove test and killed it right away - not sure if its the donuts or cracked pipe? Could it be just overfueling at top end? Are the donuts today longer lasting than the stock ones in the 09s?

That means the exhaust is sealed with no cracks or bad donuts. Flames coming out of the back is now a bigger problem! I dont know why but exhaust leaks are cheap compared to what might be wrong now.

Id pay money for flames:) when i have my intake off mine will shoot flames when its on track stsnd. Figured it was from me gutting the muffler. But it didnt on deceleration up n till i did my gaskets on sat.

That would be my next guess is maybe the airbox is not on the throttle bodies but I dont know how it would effect a 4 stroke. If it were a 2 stroke you get out the starting fluid at idle and spray it down and when the motor revs you found your leak, but I dont know if it will apply to a fourstroke!
