I have a 2009 Vector LTX and would like a windshield that is slightly higher than the stock windshield. Does anyone know what the height difference is between the stock windshield and the medium height windshield that Yamaha has on their website? I don't want one that is too high and doesn't look good. Thanks for the help.

Windshield
The 2010 Vector's have a 14.25'' stock height and the medium is 16.00''The Designer shields don't fit a s well as the stock nor do they match inn color.I just put a red one on and the color isn'nt even close.Yamaha needs to look for another vendor to get a better color match for what they charge for this stuff.

I also have a 2009 Vector and have installed the tall Yamaha shield. These are about 2" taller than the medium Yamaha accessory shield.
If I had to do it over again I would have selected the medium because I think they look better and offer additional wind protection over the stock one, especially where I ride. Both the medium and tall come with support bars for additional support.
One problem the Yamaha accessory shields have is they do not fit as well as the stock oem. I am not the only one who has complained about this.

Is it worth getting the aftermarket windshield? By the sounds of things, they don't fit very well. I have the white 2009 ltx and was considering the white shield with blue flames, but if it doesn't fit well and colors don't match I'm not sure.

If you require better wind protection get a taller than stock, they work. As far as fit and color match I believe both accessory Yamaha and aftermarket are the same. Aftermarket does not include the supports from what I am told.

the fit is not perfect but they look good and the color is pretty close, get 1 you wont regret it,here's mine,if you notice in the pic,the gap on the outside of the left headlight is not identical to the rightthies said:Is it worth getting the aftermarket windshield? Thanks. I do like the looks of that. Does that provide better wind protection than the stock windshiled?

big difference, last week,i demoed a 2010 vector with stock sheild, couldnt beleive how much wind was hitting my upper body, the medium gives you 2'' extra, still windy in the neck but the body is much more protected, and it still looks good, the tall 1 looks a little awkward if you ask me
