I recently bought a used stock 2010 vector ltx for my son. After riding for a few days we went out on the lake and lined it up with my 2012 vector standard. I was surprised to find the 2010 quite a bit faster, and it wasn't because he's lighter, we switched and the 2010 still outruns the 2012. anyone know why I don't like the fact my sons sled is faster than mine !!!!!!!!!!

That shouldn't make it faster if anything I would think it would be slower, more rotating weight should rob power??

One tooth lower gearing and longer track on the LTX will give it the advantage out of the hole. It will get the power to the ground better.

The 2010 sled probably has more miles and the motor is more "seasoned" giving it an edge. I know that sounds funny, but these 4-stroke's get better with miles, assuming proper maintenance.

Actually my 2012 has more miles by a few hundred. I'll buy the holeshot but the 2010 has at least 5-10 mph more top end it'll walk right past the 2012, a little dissappointing

I guess a question to ask is what does your top speed read? you should be atleast in the 95 mph range. If your are much below 90 maybe there is something holding you up a bit. track tension is also something to consider.

Are you both turning the same rpm on top? I have read before the LTX models are faster than the shorties but 5-10 mph faster seems hard to believe.
