I just got my 2010 rtx se and I am installing tunnel heat exchanger, oft relocator, 4th wheel kit, x clicks and competition running boards. As I have the sled apart I have noticed at just about every weld on subframe and rear suspension there is a fine line of rust looks like the paint cracked and rust is starting to form. are all the sleds like this or did I just get a bad one. I guess I should'nt complain and just ride the thing but for 11000.00 you would think that they could have a good paint job on the parts. Well I'll probably break all the parts and have to replace them at some point anyways. I hope that the yes will take care of it. Yamaha fit and finish not like it used to be.

Without pics I can't say for sure but, if it's what I'm thinking, it's basically normal. It's normal on any welded surface when painted (not e-coat) I figured mine would look like me mono did after a year but to my suprise, not the case it looks darn near the way it did when new. The skid seems pretty durrable, no issues with mine, the subframe, well we'll have wait and see.

Mine has the same thing going on..

it seemed like it was slag/flux that was never chipped off.. but i'm pretty certain they didn't arc weld the subframes.. flux cored mig?

My 08 skid is covered in rust on the welds. Thinkin of tearing down and Tremcladding before it penetrates deeper.

Yamaha has had this problem for many years, my 98 SRX was the same way. Poor quality control on Yamaha's part. SRX had rust on almost every weld causing the paint to pop off during the first season. They seem to use cheap bolts instead of anodized one's like some of the other manufacturers which causes them to corrode quickly too.
