2010 Vector gt ltx suspension starting point

Dunno how much if any 1 1/8" is below minimum. Never compared to wrench in tool kit.

Only negative is no wheelies....

Pic is just for reference. I just held tape there for guidance, not actual measurement.

Thanks for the pic. My sled is transferring too much and I'm curious where it is now (stock) and your setting (MUCH less it sounds like).

Question for you on rebound adjustment. My shock only has rebound and is currently set two clicks from full soft. It sounds as if I should set it to the middle setting and go from there?

I understand what various changes do on suspensions but this is my first Mono skid. I have an M10 on my 05 Vector and I've got it dialed in just right. I'm going to give it a season or so but if I can't get this skid to where I want it to be I see an M20 in it's future.

BTW - I'm just a trail crusier. Sometimes faster....sometimes a bit slower.

FWTW - my front shocks (as I expected ) are valved too stiff and I need a little faster compression.

You talking tunnel dial/clicker? Or front suspension shocks? I assumed front in my description. ..

If you're talking the rear, best thing in my opinion is adjust for trail conditions. That's why I say to start with 3 clicks in from full soft. That seems to be a good plush starting point IF the trails aren't too rough.

Thanks for the info the two days we rode the trials were packed Temps were -20 over night and 15 during the day so the snow was a bit loose I noticed once and a while a little ski push thru the corners any suggestions in that scenario? I didn't make any adjustments other than one click stiffer in the tunnel. Thx jdp

I just checked my sled. 1 click above minimum transfer is about 1" between the 2 nuts on the transfer rod, so you must be running more weight transfer than I am. You're probably 2-3 clicks above minimum at 1 1/8".

Got a chance to put on a couple hundred miles on theCatman setup and all I can say is WOW! and THANK YOU! to theCATman. This is a different sled. I love the setup. I thought I had my Viper dialed and I think at this point I'd sell the Viper and buy another Vector LTX in a heartbeat. The only change I made was to go two clicks up (firmer) on the tunnel adjustment. Now mind you this change also includes shimming the skis, Bergstrom system installed, and adjusting the previous owner's toe-in to a toe-out, but I had no ski lift and the sled was just a dream to handle. I did eat up a pair of brand new slides, so gonna back off the track tension some more. Thanks again theCATman!!

I'm sorry, should have been more specific. I am talking about the rebound clicker on tunnel mounted single shock. That's the only rebound/compress adjustment I have.

Glad you like the ride & handling.

Your slide wear..... this has became a huge pissing match, dick swinging contest, outright nasty argument over & over again. All I'm gonna on that is....

1. 3200 miles & counting on my orginals with at least 1/2 material left

2. 1.25-1.5" free sag

CATman out....

Using the Yam supplied measuring tool, transfer was at the halfway mark. I have adjusted it to 1/4 from min. transfer.

That about where 1 1/8" is then ??

Like a ding dong, I didn't measure it like you do. If you look at the tool Yami gives you it's at the 1/4 above minimum. Sled is outside on the trailer waiting to be ridden tomorrow otherwise I'd measure it!

Ok last post on this thecatman set up is un real my only complaint was a little push in some aggressive corners.......I have to admit I spaced out didn't check the carbides pre season and I was down to the wear bar only!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a dumb #*$&@ scary thing was the sled was still handling like it was on rails!!!! put a new set on this week and rode 300 of the best miles in years! thanks again!

Amazing what a proper setup does huh?;)!

Yes sir its kind of sad my brother in law bought the sled brand new dealer couldn't set it up for him and hes one of those guys who hates to change stuff on his own. So I got the sled he got a new doo and at least that dealer is taking care of his set up and changes. long story short there would be a lot less un happy Yamaha buyers if the damn sleds were set up like this from the get go. I rode it new it was unridable to say the least, after your set up I cant even believe its the same machine. thanks again for your help!

These kinda posts should be sticky'd, i bet so many people have these issues but just dont know where to look. (non forum people who stumble on things like this via google)
