Buying a new one for the wife and can't decide. She is currently on an 06 Vector GT. She is totally comfy on it and doesn't have any issues with getting beat up after a long day. She is a very good rider and I'm worried about her loosing cornering ability on the longer track. I have never road a 136 so I have no idea. It would seem to me that the the longer track wouldn't corner as good. Also any other pros and cons between the two would be great thanks. I have the 13mm sway bar and Pilot skis from her old vector going on it from her old sled as well. As always you guys give great advice, thanks.

136" for me all the way, you have a lot more to gain than to lose!, smoother ride, lot more stable at higher speeds, more traction it handles as good or better than a 121" in most conditions, specialy in the looser fluffy snow...I use to ride 121" and now own a 136" and I don't think I'll ever go back to a SHORTY again.

Currently have a Vector GT w/ short track and if I had to do it over again, I would not even blink and go right with the 136". For me it's advantageous because I go off trail every once-in-a-while; plus you get a little better ride once trails get bumpy. I picked up a Nytro XTX the end of last season and found that was just way more fun to ride (mostly on trails I'd add) and that has a 144". I feel it corners just as well as my Vector once you get acquainted with it.

If the sled is for your wife, go with the 121" track. It does corner better and feel lighter than the 136". Also, don't forget the new sled will have the Delta II chasis as well, it will be different than your 06 Vector GT which is a very sweet ride.

136. Yami doesn't have to make a 121 ever again as far as I am concerned.
I went from the 05 Vec to the 08 with the mono. Heaven.

you guys with the 136 are you not noticing any push in the corners? you have no problems keeping up with standard sleds? We don't ride off trail at all, would we still benefit from the longer track knowing we stay on trail? thanks for everyone's replies.

The question was the best sled for his wife. I was assuming a more petite person. I have both types of sleds and both have their advantages and diadvantages. For a smaller less strong person, the 121" track is the way to go, pushes less in the corners, more nimble and you don't need more suspension because the rider is lighter.

Only after I put 108 studs in it. It did not push out of the box. G.B.

I don't run studs and have no problems with pushing in corners once you get it dailed in to your riding style, I ride with 121" on most trips and have no problems in handling, 136" is a lot more stable at higher speeds and corners very flat, it also has more traction overall in many situation, braking is 1, climbing hills or descending etc...we trade sleds my bud and I and he has a 121" and thats wear you really can feel the difference switching from my 136", 121" is in fact more nimble in a good and bad way...I find it a little harder to predict in lower traction situation or coming in a corner a little to fast I find it'll tend to tip easier...it all comes down to what you think is the best sled for your type of riding...they all handle very well, but as you can see most or all that have switched to 136" have never looked back!
Good luck

its all in the setup. mine does not push and it has studs. spend the time to set it up and your worries will be gone.thrasher said:The question was the best sled for his wife.
