Hello,
I have been reading alot of forums on the Apex and Vectors and don't want to spend the money on the Apex and I have drove several and the drone etc on them drive me crazy. I have not had the chance to ride the 2010 vector and was wondering if there is a similar drone/vibration from 25-45ish, and how it is compared to a vector. Or is there anything else you don't like about your vector. Thanks

Here's what I don't like about my '10 Vector LTX/GT

The winter is NOT LONG ENOUGH to ride, ride, ride!!

I own an '06 Apex also. I wear earplugs on the Apex, it's loud. This is a bone stock engine & exhaust with no leaks, so it's not like my sled is modified in any way. I'll get a headache within 30 miles on the Apex without earplugs.

I have ridden the Vector on 170 miles+ rides and earplugs never crossed my mind. When the wife rides it (Vector) she has commented on how quiet it is compared to the Apex. She says she can hear the Apex over the Vector anytime she is closer than about 75-100 ft to me.

i demoed 1 yesterday,i have an 09 and its a much improved sled, efi rocks big time, for me,on trails,i dont even see the need for the apex power, that vector will pull stretch youre arms,i loved it,i had no complaint in the ride i had

OK, don't want to step on groomermans toes, but not sure if he 's on here much, so here is my impression after swapping my 08 vector GT 121 with his 10 vector ltxgt .
Like the slightly louder exhaust note.
Acceleration seemed about the same.
Trails were decent so it rode great.
Couldn't get used to the clutch slipping into "neutral" when you get out of the throttle in the corners. Guess I love the engine braking on mine and have become accustomed to having it as my brake.
2 inner bogie wheel bearings were toast within 100 miles of each other that day. 3000 miles
08 vector, an 05 rage and the 10 vector,....at the pump the 10 was the worse on fuel mileage,...not by much,...2/10 in a 6 to 7 gal. fill.

sorry groomerman if yur out there....if you are,... chime in....

Best Yamaha ever built. Same old issues. Dru clips pain in the butt. Still too loud. Rear suspension not as good as competion in the rough. Seat sucks. Still a great sled. They all have issues

seat sucks??/ ...it's not that bad

purepower, you are gonna have to kinda learn to decipher 'peoples comments'.
this is a very nice sled....PERIOD.
are you going to mainly ride groomed trails? if the answer is yes. then GET THIS SLED.
i have 1300 on mine this year.
something is going to break or suck on any sled. i would rather a bogie wheel bearing break (at 3000 miles) than an engine.
you also have to take into consideration how you ride in comparison to other people commenting here.....someone who rides full on hard and beats their machine will break stuff sooner. someone who rides pretty civily may not break things for an aweful long time.
dig?

I have a mix of ditch banging, groomed trails, and occasionally rough trails. I have rode my viper hard and not so hard and have never had anything break. I don't beat the snot out of it by all means, but on occasion, I have to show certain people, not to mess with me in the twisties. :) :tg: :moon: I have owned 3 yamaha sleds in the past 15 years and have never had one break. That is why I stick with the best. :yam: Does seem though the general consensus is this is the way to go. When I do buy, I like to stick with new, then I know what I start with and when spending $10 grand on a sled, I like to do my homework.

PurePower...... I can tell you that for ditchbanging, the Vector won't win you any driveway jumping contests. For that matter, I wouldn't jump the sled higher than a couple feet. The Mono-Shock skid is not for jumping.

However, if you get the LTX/GT you will love laughing at your buddies when they are stuck in the deep snow & you're roosting past them.

Powersports1.com in Kaukauna has a white/Black/silver 2010 Vector GT LTX. It is there last one. Call and ask for Rod or Dan.

They are a great guys.

Yes, I bought two sleds from them this year and a buddy bought a Nytro XTX. They are 1st rate to deal with.

RE seat. Too narrow for me. Look at competition they all make a wider more comfortable seat IMHO. I had my Vector LTX GT modified to be wider and taller. It's nice now but cost $240.00 I ride long distances and the Seat makes a huge difference at the end of the day.
