2016 RS Vector XTX 1.25 Lug wifes..2013 RS Vector LTX.. 2003 600 VMax Past Machines 3-2007 Attaks 1-2010 Vector LTX.. sorry no Stinkdoos or poo's cats.
My wifes sled has such a different sound and ride over my Attak. Is it because of the fully clipped track and extrovert drivers? I can feel more vibration and track sound as its turning then my Attak. When I get it up to 35 MPH plus it seems to smooth right out. I know the Attak has 4 cylinders and will spin smoother but I think most of this is in the drive train.
Just making sure something isn't out of wack. Motor is fine. All the clutches and brake rotors spin even with no wobble at all.

The biggest difference I notice between my Apex & Vector is the Apex's exhaust is so loud & drones, it drowns out the track/ hyfax howl.

Whereas the Vector's exhaust note isn't as loud/drone, and I can hear the track/hyfax howl.

I personally don't feel any different vibrations, or not that I've really noticed anyhow.

i do feel vibration too sometimes, noticed that when riding in powder it is much worst, weird but no issues so i just keep driving it and loving it

Maybe with a quieter drone I notice the sound. It's similar to having aggressive tires on the highway. Howling is the right word. I bet the fully clipped track plays into it as well. I notice when spinning my Attak track while off the floor it's quieter because it isn't fully clipped and not all the windows are open.
I swear on the RSVLTX you can hear those clip's running along the hyfax and the cogs engageing them.

^ I'll agree with you on the spinning the track when elevated.

I have noticed that when I'm checking things over or performing maintainance, that the Vec is louder in the track "clacking" dept.

Makes sense, hard plastic slapping on all those metal clips vs on an every 3rd window track where there is 3" of rubber pads every 6" or so.

On a side note.... remember riding a 2-smoke sled (I know, a nightmare we all want to forget :drink: ) you never heard the track/hyfax howl did you? That's because a 2-strokes engine exhaust frequency cancels out the track noise.

Well, other than a Polaris Xtra-12, their hyfax howled way louder than the exhaust note. I remember taking my then new '95 XLT Special for it's first ride & hearing that awefull noise, I had to call the dealer & ask if there might be something wrong with the sled, he said "Umm, yea, there is a "bit" of hyfax noise with the Xtra-12 suspension"

What about those Extrovert drivers? What effect do they have over standard ones? They must be digging or clacking from all the clips as well.
All this stems from my wife rolling over the Vector. It was a very low speed and only bend the handle bar. I never rode it so when I got on to check it out after the roll over I was taken by the difference between my Attak and the Vector. We have 300 miles or so since and all looks good but who knows.
I wish I made the Yamaha demo rides this year to compare their Vector LTX.

I'm glad somebody brought this up. I picked up an '09 Vector LTX GT for my wife this season, with 500 miles on it. The first time I drove it (and every time since) I have noticed a vibration that I have never felt on my '08 Apex LTX GT. I hope it is just a normal characteristic of the sled, but am still a bit worried by it. The Apex is ultra smooth.

the vectors have a bit of driveline vibration. It doesn't hurt anything but their not as smooth as other sleds.

Yes I find my Attak so smooth compared to the RS.
She does get good fuel mileage..20 mpg consistently. I only get 13-15 mpg.
Easy to change filter,plugs,oil.

on my warrior,i had the same vibration, more when riding in loose snow, seems like the snow accumulates in the skid and creates that vibe, conditions like i had today,no vibration at all, that's on hard packed and some icy spots

I thawed it out inside my shop a few times to check it out and try again. I guess it's just the nature of the design.
The track noise when runnning up to 35mph reminds me of my off road tires I use to run on my pickups years ago.
Vibration is a little more then my Attak.
