- Yamaha RS Venture
Two years ago I purchased two new RS Venture sleds that the local dealer was clearing out for a good price.
We rode them the first year and they were trouble free but last year we only ran them for an hour or so. We are having trouble getting them going now which I assumed it might be stale gas.
The Yamaha dealer said the RS Ventures were very prone to not starting when left for long periods. They told me to bring them in And they would clean the carbs for about $400 per machine which I thought was a little high. I drained the gas and removed the float bowls and checked the main and pilot jet, refuelled and they both started. I reinstalled the air box and and closed the cowl on both and believe it or not, they both would not start again.
Has anyone else has a similar issue?

fuel line may have lost its prime, with the gas cap on, located the vent line in the footwell and blow on the hose with your mouth while you start it with the choke on, that or you didnt re assemble the carbs properly, something stuck maybe

X2 on the vent hose. Works great.. My bud also tried the ole spray starter in the air box trick.. He said it started right up.. Hm.. I find if it goes more than 4/5 weeks I will need to do the vent hose trick.. MM.

if you dont have any fuel in the pump starter spray will only fire it up for a sec, But if it doesnt start after a while of blowing in the tank then i would do what max says and start investigating other options!
