I know this topic is probably beat to death but I couldn't find my answer in a search. I have a brand new 2011 Apex 128 and rode 500 miles in the UP last week in 1-3 foot of powder. The only slider wear is in front of my front idler wheel. Is this common? It wore down about 50%. Will it wear down initially and then stop? Or should I take one more trip and then get ready to put on the DuPonts? I think my track is loose enough.

Alot of posts on this last year. Lots of people were adding a small wheel kit at the bend or pulling up the limiter strap one hole

I was worried about mine too after 1000km...and then I just measured them with a box wrench. A 14mm wrench just fits over them at that same spot. Stock, the sliders' thickness is 17.8mm and Yamaha specs to replace them is at 10mm. I ordered a set of new slides and I'll hold onto them until needed.
This past weekend, under icy/hard pack conditions, my Skidoo riding partners, following me of course, said that they did not smell the sliders burning. Hopefully, the sliders are at a point where they won't wear any further.
