Going to buy a new 2011 yamaha to ride mostly ontrail in wisconsin and the michigan up. Rode a 600 121" polaris in the past. I am a pretty aggressive rider when I can be and love throttle thru the twisties. I am trying to decide between a apex or a vector ltx.How will the sleds differ and how should I decide? decisions decisions.

This answer is subjective as I haven't ridden my Vector yet but from all the reading I have done, I would say you may want the Vector?
(the 3 holer sits lower in the chasis compared to the 4)

From what I understand the Vector is a better handler in the twisties where as the Apex is more of a big trail machine. (but that could be different now due to the EPS?) (power steering) .

There are a miriad of adjustments on both sleds and I am sure some Apex owners have their sleds dialed in to run the twisties very well so wait for some others to chime in and see what they say then go from there.

I chose the Vector as I am not the biggest guy around and I mostly ride local trails which are a far cry from some of the Northern or Quebec trails I keep hearing about.

They are both great sleds that you are looking at, but you really should test ride each, before you buy.

I went from the 2008 Apex to the 2010 Vector GT LTX and was happy as can be with the handling and the sled. The new EPS on the apex is supose to make it handle like a ski doo and have he power of the Apex will be great. I don't think the Apex is 5-6 grand better than the Vector but if the price comes down to $10K I am going to look at it.

You happy with 125 hp or 160ish? No comparison in hp in 2011 sleds. You want EPS or not? You want engine braking or not. If you don't know how to use engine braking you might not like Vector ...there is a learning curve. Totally different sleds in in 2011.
