Thanks I was hoping for some better graphics but yes the procedure IS in the manual. All the talk of laying sled on side & using spring scale to check sounds scary. I am brand new rider & owner just dont want to do something wrong.

What I do is jack or hoist the back end up until the track is in the air. Use a scale or make a rig that weighs what your model calls for then hang it in the center where shown in manual. Measure from track to sliders. If adjustment is needed loosen rear axle nuts. Turn adjusters equal amounts until the track is at the correct sag. tighten rear axle nuts. Run sled track up in the air if you can then check or equal clearance on both sides between track and sliders. If one side is closer then the other then you must loosen axle nuts and turn adjusters or adjuster on opposite side of were you want the track to go. Fairly simple. the hard part is makeing sure the track has equal distance between the rail and track lugs on each side.

And don't be afraid to run your track on the loose side.

I've never measured the sag with weight. I go by eye and run it as loose as I can. Once it starts to slip, loosen your axle bolts and turn the adjuster nuts 2 or 3 turns clockwise to tighten. I haven't checked mine yet but will be loosening it soon. A tight track robs horsepower and fuel mileage.
