So my dealer will not stud my XTX and showed me a bulletin from Yamaha stating that we are on our own should we stud and incur damages due to the studs. No warranty if underside of sled is damaged including Exup.

I've always studded every sled I've owned if not for better hook-up but just for safety alone! Going to try the beast studdless this weekend but know I'll want them by Monday.

So what is everyone doing? I've read several posts about shimming and adding stiffners but what is really working? I know some dealers are studding . . . . . but at your own risk, who wants to replace an Exup @ $2300???? :o|

Stud it no question. Tell the dealer to do the fix for you. You just bought a brand new sled from them they better help you out. If they don't have a fix I will PM you my dealers information and you can see what they are doing for the fix.

See this thread for Yammie bulletin. http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php? ... 109802df1e

It appears your dealer is not well informed.

There is not an issue with the XTX's that I am aware of and no additional protection is needed.

The memo only applies to the 128" sleds.

Stud with 1.325's and ride.

BTW my SE has no stud ticking issues in 1600 km. I keep track at spec. No Hi Fax issues either.

studding 11 xtx

I just returned from the UP after puting 950 miles on my xtx, i am running 4 studs per bar for a total of 228 studs and i did not have any issues, and that was on and off trail riding, the buletin that i seen from yamaha was only for the 128" sleds, I would not hesitate to stud it, the pull from the xtx with studs is incredible. I am running 1.375 fastrac studs.
