I Am sure this has been mentioned before but I would like to hear what other apex owners have to say.

-My dealer has suggested to put in a yamaha wheel kit, so two more wheels and add the Dupont Sliders.

-looked into the excell wheel kit the URL was http://www.excellmotorsports.com/X_Wheel.htm is this the right place to purchase?

-I ordered the scratchers but my deal stated he can't install them on the XTX is this true?

any advice would be great thanks.

Excel Wheels. I put them and night and day difference in slide wear on my Apex XTX.

Did you also install the new Dupont sliders?

I think Northern Rider wants to install them but are the new Dupont sliders not better suited for a 121 or 128 inch track as the Dupont material doesn't go any further back than that?

How could the whole slider not be made of the same material? that is crazy.

This is the only pic I could find NR, but it clearly shows the Dupont material doesn't go the full length of the slider.

I have no experience with the XTX sled or the new sliders so I have no idea if just adding the sliders will work or not?

No, running stock hyfax. Just did a run the other night and there was a lot of road riding in this trail system, and the hyfax are still holding up, and not burned through. No low areas or obvious areas to pay attention to. Just turned 502 on the odometer and taking her in for her first service.

XTX guys remember your "tip up" is at the 121" mark...you don't have wear issues on the tip up...from the 121"-144"

This is not true. They are set up for mounting scratchers in front, from the stabilisator-thing, just like every other newer Yamaha.

Please explain as I really don't know what the stabilisator- thing is. IF anyone has a picture of scratchers on installed on the skid please post so I can show my dealer

you can get the bigger idlers from Royal for $26.99 each. i replaced all 6 of mine on the XTX and added 2 sets of smaller yamaha marginal wheels (front and near where they wear the most) and now have better hyfax wear. i've got approx 2000Km since doing this and still have over half of the material left. i will be going to dupont slides when these are ready to be replaced.
