2012 Ski Doo Video...

ya, that Nob looks like its in a HORRIBLE place. Adjustable KYBs, So so. quick/easy adjust transfer would be nice though!

A post on dootalk suggest that this new rear suspension is all ski-doo has for 2012,no new engines.

knob

If you notice the knob has numbers on it. I think this is a counter so you can keep track of how many times your buddies had to pull you on a tow rope. That way in the summer when your buddies go to your house, drink all your beer, then leave saying we're almost even, you can go in the shed and reference the counter!!!

Also the video also shows a new slim athletic walking boot especially designed for those extra long walks after a breakdown!![/img]

How often you change rear spring setup and why?
Do you have to take whole suspension to dealer for maintenance?
Weird.

Interesting that they don't even list a yammie skid as being competitive.

I'm sure it works great...it just looks so...poorly executed...

Any remember the 1982 Blizzard 5500mx...it had suspension parts on the tunnel too...

My sled is 6 model years old and I can adjust the shock with a switch on the bars...hmmmmm...just more and more reasons why I love my mono...

wow sweet

Makes me happy I have my 10 Apex LTX GT and not some piston eating motor and now with an complicated adjusting suspension. The suspension they had was about as good as you could get ( Honestly great ride and handled good) with easy adjustment if you thought you needed it.
just my 2 cents

I have to ask, how much WEIGHT does this add to the sled? By the looks of it, its an over glorified version of how the Phazer skid works with the rear shock linked to the front arm to control the shock movement. I still don't see how the rear spring can be full rising weight though, even demonstrated in there video.

if you look at the graphs they show you see the new skid with the highest numbers on the scale, and the cats with the lowest. does this mean the cats are the worst riding skids out there? think again, most of what i have read and seen show the cat ride to be at or very near the best in the business, as many yamaha owners have them in their sleds. its possable the yamaha skid is not in the chart is because it might very well have equal or more travel, making the doo not look as good in the comparison. as for rising rate of shock compression i would guess that air shocks do this quite well. the big clunky knob to adjust the shock was on the first mono skid, but was built into the side of the tunnel out of the way and adjustable while riding, but they couldent copy that now could they. the shock position adjustment was on our old pro action skids. the spring adjust feature is on my expert x skid, but i have to do it by hand,(30 seconds). there is nothing new here, just the same stuff from other manufactures re packaged.

I took it that the competition listed in the graphs was to compare the new Doo skid to the other 'rising rate' suspensions available. To my knowledge, Cat and Polaris are the only ones that advertise as having a rising rate suspension.
