2013 Apex pulls big train on skidoo etecs

While riding my 2012 this past weekend, I was following an 800 etec. When he came out of turn he would hammer it. When I was on his tail I would hammer it also and reel him in pushing him into the next turn. Once stopped he asked if I was stock saying he couldn't pull away from me. When he saw I wasn't studded he just shook his head and said he heard that Apex's were a pooch :4STroke:

Like all forums there is always more to the story. My belt deflection was way outta wack. Here is the same trip in canada. A 8 minute video. Look at 4 min mark and the 5 min mark.

Then the last couple min of two doo's going at it! no Yami in sight...

Lol. Also that pig apex blew four turns. We had a few inches of powder every day and that thing handled like a Buick roadmaster!! LOL





Ps. sorry to burst your bubble! Etec 800.. The complete sled!

Go borrow another chassis from Cat!!!

Btw. I have owned alot of yami's sx 700 and srx 700's.. I have nothing against yami's.. But i like the truth!!!!!

You still did not beat him and you ran side by side with it on the trail and he crushed you on the road. Belt deflection has nothing to do with its shift on top end....

Amen brother! these doo riders just dont get it. No substitute for a big hammer. As i said it was close in the trail and it was loose and fresh powder. If it was longer stretch I still would of pulled them.
 
You can never make up 10 sleds. The guy talking is the one driving the white etec. The yellow 2013 etec with the mirrors belt was fine, he just lost one sled on the start and still got destroyed by a 10 sleds with no chance of reeling the yamaha in closer. If the Yellow Etec was faster it would have shortened the distance. instead it got worse. I remain! end of story till next year.
 
Yep.. Its all on tape.. Once Belt settled in 500 miles later white etec ran fine... Its on tape against the yellow etec.... Almost even.. The 2013 might be a half a sled or so faster with cooler clutching

Not sure what your argument is here? I did watch the tape and that "pig Apex Buick" whipped up on your ETEC! All the ETEC's for that matter. Your ETEC has more HP and is considerably lighter to boot.

I owned an Apex (2006) and I now own a ski-doo 1200 for the second time. I will say this.... You got your #*$&@ handed too on a platter... He crushed you on the road... I would like to see your 800 run my 1200....
 
ill tell you what.. you guys are freaking crazy nutz!!!! them are some damn fast sleds.. but alls i pictured was a deer creeping out of those rows of pine trees... nice seeing that apex taking it to them doo doos!!!

I told the white Etec guy he has to work his way up thru the ranks. First he has to beat all other etecs on the road before he has a second shot at racing the white apex again! What do you yami guys think? are you with me on this one??:home:
 
I watched both video's the apex gets out in front in the first video and stays right where he's at. The second video they hit it at the same time and they run side by side.

I just bought a 2013 renegade doo and I owned a 2011 apex. I think the apex is faster on top.

However the Doo is a riot. I had more fun this past weekend then I've had in 10 years on a sled
