2014 Apex (SS) Rumors

Here's an issue: If the motor is turned around 180 degrees, how the heck is a guy supposed the change the oil filter?

If you think removing the airbox and battery holder to change the oil filter is a PITA, then wait until you have to remove the rear exhasut covers, seat, and gas tank to get to the damn thing, lol!

If they want to come out with a new motor and it harder to work on everyone will do it I really don't call it WORKING on my sled it more playing for me so bring the sh1@ on

Checked the last post on Passion Yamaha site. This appears to be a RED HERRING(I knew the front mounted exhaust system was B.S).

I hear they were comming out with a 3 stroke and doing away with the exhaust all together.

Yamaha and A/C were together last spring. They are testing a new motor for both. 2 cyl turbo.

......2014 wil be the last year of Suzuki motor in A/C...

I'm happy that I bought this year a 4 banger Apex SE 2011, nothing has the same exhaust note. :letsnow:

Are they gonna at least change the body style????? They have dragged this body style on for wayyyy to long!! Oh, maybe some weight reduction? Their new SHO 4stroke outboard motor is incredibly lighter than the HPDI 2 stroke!!!! Technically, it is then possible to make a fourstroke sled just as light as a two stroke.....wuhoooo, reliability + a shitload of fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-o

Being the rumors are that yamaha is swapping cat some motor technology for their suspension, and cat dropped 100 lbs ballpark from their old platform it should create a lighter ride for us

Cat 162 turbo mountain sled is not lighter than a Nytro 162 with the MPI turbo kit - so I am not holding my breath on significant weight savings coming from cat.

I have looked into my crystal ball! I forsee a lot of angry posts in 2014! Mostly because no matter what they bring to the table it won't please everyone. This has been true every year for as long as I've been a member! I just don't see that changing!

A all-new 800cc four-stroke triple(125-135hp)in a new, lower chassis weighting the same wet weight as the original 700sx would be a stake in the heart of the competition(and would kill apex sales). It be nice but i can only dream.

they need an 800 2-stroke DI!!!! id buy that in a heartbeat

Absolutely!!!!!!!!!

But we might have to buy an arctic cat f8 in a few years to ever drive a sled with a yammi di 2 stroke propelling it, lol!!!!
