Ok, the backstory is I picked up a 2014 viper ltx se with only 170 miles on it. Guy i bought it from had Ulmer clutch kit, air intake and 144 inch and half picks put on it. I also noticed the limiter strap is all the way out. He is 5'7" maybe 150 lbs. I'm 6'1" 260 dressed. I'm 90% aggressive trail rider, 10% off trail. Im putting my slydog skis with 6" shaper bars on it. I've looked through all the threads and haven't exactly found what i'm looking to know so here are my questions for you guys: Looking for initial set up ideas. Only get 2 or 3 trips a year and have to drive 500 miles to get to snow. With the picks and my slydog skis is 60 - 65 lbs air pressure in front shocks about right? where should I start with the limiter strap since i have no idea where it was before he changed it? Front rear skid shock inches of threads? torsion springs are already set to soft. Thanks in advance.

Some good info in this one found in FAQ sticky under LTX suspension setup. Please add to this what you end up liking. Thanks.

That thing must have bounced him all over the place.I weight what you do it was still stiff for me. I just had a revalve done so will see how that helps.I also went up one on the limiter strap.

Not to worry you or make you spend more money, but I can guarantee you that for under $200 a simple revalve on the two rear shocks will be the best money you spend, in my opinion that's the only thing needed to make the viper ride awesome.

x3. either, hygear, carver, or monster performance. I ran my 14 ltx se for 1500 miles/half a season and im about 250 and the revalve was on the top of my list for this year. the viper rides sorta nice stock but there is a lot to be had. monster did both my rear shocks for $101 then $20 to ship them back it was only about a week for them the come back to. his customer service is top notch too, he called me as soon as he was done with them to tell me there was nothing that needed to be replaced and he was shipping out the next day. I have also herd really good things about the other company's i just chose monster because the price and they were closer to me.Not to worry you or make you spend more money, but I can guarantee you that for under $200 a simple revalve on the two rear shocks will be the best money you spend, in my opinion that's the only thing needed to make the viper ride awesome.

X4! Revalve the shocks. I love my sled, but a revalve was my primary "0ff season" mod. The sled rode way to harsh for my liking.

I run my limiter all the way out as well. Shock valving was a must for me at 175 with gear. Just put Slydogs on, so don't know what I'll need to do for corners yet, but had too much bite with the tuners with 6" shapers in and 6" round out on hard pack. Still pushed in the loose snow. Running torsions on soft, and center shock at about 3/16" of preload. I am 70# on the floats, but I have Hygear dual pressure kit on the floats.
Play with a bit to see what you need. Everybody rides differently and likes different characteristic when it comes to handling.
