I am thinking about picking up a left over 2014 LTX SE. Is there any recalls or up dates that I should ask about?
Also thinking of going with the dealer installed turbo without the intercooler. Thoughts?

If your thinking about having the dealer install a turbo you should make sure they have done a few already. Also find out the installation price up front.

I would hope it's a smoking deal being a leftover. From what I have seen the leftovers haven't been that spectacular a deal so far so you may want to price an in stock 2015 for comparison.

Might be right but, my dealer quoted a guy the other day 11,200 out the door for 2014 XTX with 0 miles with clutch kit, 8dn belt, and skid shock spring swap already done. He has a turbo for it but that was not in the quote.

I never priced an XTX so I have no idea what they were in season, but that seems a bit high.

Then again the OTD pricing comes up. This just makes a mess out of the numbers as tax rates registration fees etc all confuse the issue.

Yep, most dealers tack on ALOT of money in DOC fees etc. Only number matters to me is out the door. I thought that number not bad as the mods we have been doing will be already done by the dealer. But then again I would expect a carryover to be cheaper.....

Sold out of 2015s. 2014s are 1700 cheaper

I haven't seen much for leftover 2014 vipers, I think a lot of them sold as they had awesome reviews for a first year sled and minimal issues with them, but for the ones I have seen available the dealers weren't trying too hard to sell them, the price for leftovers are still more than what I paid for my spring order 2014 but if the 15s are all sold out and all u can get is a 14 and u really want one then looks like there's only one route to take.

Well. I went ahead and did it! 2014 LTX SE Red and Black! Traded in my Attak gt. Should be ready early next week. I am so excited. Dealer told me that all up dates and recalls would be taken care of when I pick it up. Going to have to wait on the turbo until the non intercooler setup is approved for warranty but that is ok as I will be breaking it in and getting used to it. I hope I will like it. Looks mean as hell.

It'll be totally different than what you're used to from the attak, the more miles u put on the better it gets, and as soon as you grab a handful of the happy button with the turbo on you won't stop smiling. Just a heads up with the turbo, that doesn't come with any clutching setups, you and/or your dealer will need to get that stuff on your own so you may want to start getting that stuff lined up so it's ready for when u get the turbo

Good thinking on the clutching Studroes, but I had already checked and the pricing I got for the turbo install ounce approved by Yamaha for warranty includes the clutching and fuel mapping. Thank you for the advice.

What type of turbo are you having installed? I know the MPI is what Yamaha is putting in the sleds. I am going to be ordering one in the spring for next year. What clutching changes and fuel mapping changes are coming with it. I was not aware that the MPI came with any of that. Just trying to make sure I have all my info correct when I get ready to order.

As far as I know there is no clutching included with any of the mpi turbo kits, unless yamaha has changed something with the trail turbo but I doubt it. Fuel mapping will all be set and included in the kit, only thing you'll need is clutching.

My sled is being setup with the clutching and fuel mapping at the dealer. Pick it up next week. 6.5psi boost 200 hp ready to go. cant wait!
