2014 SR Viper RTX SE
Stopped by my dealer today to drop my bikes for spring service and had a chance to look over a 2015 viper they had on the floor. I took some pics of the new tuner skis. The new "Super Tuners" have a noticably deeper keel on the inside. They look quite aggressive. I may give them a try next winter.

I'm pretty happy with pilot 6.9's on my xtx. Steering effort is higher but flotation is much better than stock.

There not bad skis! But have you ever tried the tuner skis? They made the Nytro tons better!

I really think that the tuner skis would make any sled handle better!
Could be a little wider, but they float really good

Has anyone been able to get a part number on the new Tuner skis? I'm looking to put on a set next season.

I don't think they will have a part number or mounting kit until probably late in the year.

If the new tuners have a deeper keel on one side I believe they will have less push and handle better.

Sort of follows what I have been doing. I take a dual carbide, cut one side loose/ or off and put 1/4" or 3/8" rod or square under it and weld back on. A lot less push, better handling and still no darting. Have not noticed much difference with the lowered carbide on the inside or out side.

Did this on my viper before the 1st ride. All I had was a worn out set of duallies with the carbide missing, just welded a very worn 4" carbide runner on one side of each. I'm happy with Zero darting and the handling. Only a little push when the trail has lots of loose snow.

I only use duallies that are 1 1/2" wide. The ones for the old Yamaha skis were only 1 1/4" wide, leaving about 1/2" between and push was terrible. Did not clean above approx. 15mph. I widened a set ( what a Job ) but they did not push as bad.

Just to use them up I have a new set of duallies from a Poo that I will modify for next season for the viper.

Doesn't seem to matter how little the one runner sticks down, it still gets rid of the darting.

On a set of Slydog Trail skis I took 1 1/2 " wide x 3/16" thick flat iron( a metal skis saver in other words ), drilled holes so 6" single carbides would mount. Then tacked a 1/8" flat about 3/8" like a skate blade maybe 8" long on one side and darting was gone. This skate blade piece can wear down to less than a 1/4" and still no darting.

Doesn't seem to take much to disrupt the darting.

As you can tell I like experimenting and making things.

Sounds interesting. Lets see a picture.

not seeing in the pictures a difference in height other than the carbides being different heights themselves.

did you measure the depth of keel? They look closer to the original arrow skis they are designed after. Stock is 7/8 deep, Arrows are 1 1/8.

Glad to see they are changing them up. Now if they made them stepped up to a wider section for powder like the mountain skis
