just check out yamahas web site.under minus 40,click on ad and scroll down to pic of guy holding a red windshield.you can see a grab handle on the bars.

And the grab handle also comes standard on the current viper xtx.

You mean this one? I was looking more at where the rear brake light is in relation to the seat. You can see it the entire light support and a bit of the tunnel, and I'm not sure you would with an XTX. Maybe someone can find a similar front shot and post it.

So does this mean the MTX/Mountain Max will be Viper based? What a surprise! Now if it had a factory turbo, that would be interesting.

yup thats yammi hey lets take this trail sled & slap a longer tunnel & track on it,we will call it a mtn sled. :o| they should sell a bunch of the with only 135hp & 40lbs heavier than the competition :dunno: :o|

If all it's going to be is a long tracked Viper, which my guess is it will be, then why in hell wouldn't they have released it for 2014 and sold a bunch to the mountain guys? A Viper with a 162 tunnel extension and 162 AC Float skid is not much wow factor for 2015. Hopefully I'm wrong and they make a bunch of small changes resulting in a 20 lb weight loss.

Yupp, and in 2016 they will be coming with a new mountain. A brand "new" Viper with 153 skid ;)

Definitely a low-to-no hype launch this year.

What would everyone think about a new 600 and 800cc two stroke Mountain Max? If Yamaha comes to the conclusion that a light weight 4 stroke mountain sled isn't feasible, then maybe they will borrow new Cat DI engines too?

I think you would see that before Yamaha builds their own new two strokes.

I can't see that happening personally. Yamaha is an engine company full stop.... that's what they do best. I cant see them "borrowing" someone else's engine technology. I would love to see them produce a Direct Injection 2 stroke, But i doubt it will ever happen.

Cheers,

And this is why doo-doo kicks yammies @$$ in sales every year............ They listen to what the customers "WANT"... A smoker for the mountains and ditch bangers, and 4-strokers for the tour group...... Let's face it guys, 2- smokers smell but they are much lighter. I for one will never buy another smoker. MM. :moon:
