With another year comes another Iron Dog race. We at Anchorage Yamaha are excited to have two teams racing for us with the help and support of Yamaha Motor Corp. With their help and guidance and our experience on the longest race in America we feel we have a great chance this year. Last year we had mechanical issues at the half way point that led to a DNF however this year we have much better sleds, equipment and personnel helping. Please follow along as we take on yet another Iron Dog season. Below are links to the two Veteran teams we have racing this year.

Team 3, Doug Dixon and Steven Boney

With a couple thousand miles on the practice sleds we are now finishing up the race sleds. One more week and the race starts!

So the trail up north isn't looking so good. The race must go on! 2000+ mile race and a couple hundred look like this....

Better add some wheels to the skis and skid...LOL
You guys ever think about becoming a Vendor or at least a VIP?

DuPont hyfax are a must, extra skis in McGrath, and thank god for a radiator! As long as we keep moving we don't have cooling issues, all the other teams are installing extra radiators and fans but we will be good to go.
One more night of last minute preparations and the teams hit the trail Sunday.
Correction to above, team 40 starts in 9th position and team 3 starts 15th.

Day 1 in the books.
Team 40 into McGrath in 7th place. Now on 14 hr mandatory layover. Says the worst trail they have ever seen, overheating was an issue. Very happy with the sleds and performance they are getting.

Team 3 blew a rear shock eyelit and was forced to take a 8 hr layover only 140 miles north. Just got word they replaced it and back in the trail and will ride through most of the night. Just so you have an idea of the trail again...
