Played around at dealer yesterday to compare rebound between LE and std Viper. The LE definitely comes back up much slower. Why does Yamaha do this? Had a 2014, had the rear shock revalved and they took away most of the rebound, rode awesome. It seems to me that in repeated rough areas the springs are held back from returning for the next bump. I can see benefit on a single bump but we don't have that condition very often. Has anyone revalved the 2106 yet?

Was the shock set on the soft setting? I find mine pretty quick on soft, I just hope the rebound doesn't change when you turn up the damping. I was a little dis appointed there is no rebound adjustment!Played around at dealer yesterday to compare rebound between LE and std Viper. The LE definitely comes back up much slower. I was on soft all around. Only 1 ride so far so things may loosen up. Just don't understand why Yamaha always has so much rebound control. Push on some competitors sleds and there is much faster rebound. I know the theory is you don't want the sled bucking back at you but have never seen that as an issue. Most common conditions we encounter are repetitive rapid moguls, it seems the sled just pounds the bumps further and further into the travel.

My 08 apex ltx gt with the ohlins shock has to be stiffened on the rebound on my first ride! Hit a series of whoops and on the third I was looking straight at the ground and the skis were still on the ground at 80mph! LOLI was on soft all around. Only 1 ride so far so things may loosen up. Wakes you up in a hurry!!!

Send them over I can fix them up.

Yamaha messes up the shocks on purpose to slow you down!

I need to ride it a bit more, just it seems Yamaha loves rebound control. Has my 2014 done by Monster performance which is local and was very impressed,. Maybe I should have kept it?

Okay you have the QS3's on there right? They are very close rebound wise and compression. Just spent some time riding those shock last weekend and they worked well as I thought they would. Remember the standard shocks are not meant for a aggressive rider. They are plush but will bottom pretty easily.

Does the rebound change with the adjuster or is it just compression? I'm 280lbs with gear and I didn't find mine that plush on low! Bottomed a few times but not as bad as I though it would coming up to the big ones.Okay you have the QS3's on there right? They are very close rebound wise and compression. No. Its a compression adjuster. For your weight I would put torsions on Med for sure. Those are lighter spring in there compared to last year. Going up on torsion will also make your rebound faster. I think you are riding to far down in the stroke.

There is 4 shocks available on Vipers and Cats 129,137 for rear
Standard-1.5in bodies=Soft non aggressive
2.0 Non adjustable=Stiff slow rebound
QS3
ZeroPro Fox comp and reb adjustable
