The crappy winter was probably one good reason there weren't many demo rides going on. Most of the mid west was lacking in snow this year.

Without being an engineer and comparing it to the look of some older suspension is useless. Pretty much everything we know now is speculation. I can't imagine Yamaha hasn't been testing this for some time though. All I can say about the design is it seems it pretty much lends to one shock out there, the Fox Float. If a person really didn't like the shock after some time on the sled I am not sure what you would replace it with. But once a design is out there for awhile plenty of aftermarket outfits seem to come up with something.

i talked to a guy that actually tried a 2016 a few days ago with singleshot suspension, that hadn't been broken in just assembled the day before, and said he was impressed, thought it worked better then the monoshock in the bumps..thats all i have found yet, but seems promising..
