I don't get all the disappointed people....the upgrades Yamaha have done are very nice and make GOOD sleds even better....Over the last 6 seasons...every minor issue I felt Yamaha had with their sleds has been addressed...from wheel bearings to skis, to hand warmers...plus several front and rear suspension upgrades...alot of the upgrades have slipped by people un noticed.
So there isn't a brand new chassis this year?? So what...IMO yamaha continues to improve things in their line-up every year. Have you looked around our sport?? Is any manufacturer making a radical new chassis? The answer is no....the market for new sleds is weak....Ski-doo continues to tweek their line-up..but there is nothing radical and new there either. (and the folks at Doo Talk are complaining over there too)
I can't wait to see what the review on the new single shot suspension will be...if it's what yamaha says it is...then the one issue I thought yamaha needed the most work on...has been solved...and already good sleds are even better.
As far as HP goes....why do they need a 170-180 HP sled?? My 2011 Apex runs well against any stock 800. (depending on distance of the race..you will trade wins all day)
I really like what I see...sure...a new Apex would have been cool...but disappointed?? NOT ME...some of you need to ride a 2011 or newer apex..before you comment on the 2016's...to me the 2016's are better sleds than what we already have..they are an improvement...and I look forward to reviews of these sleds...either way I'm keeping my xtx the next couple of years...I love it...when it's time to upgrade..it will be another Yamaha...and most likely another apex...if that makes me a blue goggle wearing fool...so be it....if you are disappointed maybe Yamaha isn't for you...so why be unhappy??? MOVE ON...if you don't like it.

I completely agree! Updated Apex is nice. Way better than BNG. Looks good for keeping Yammi in Japan. The chassis is solid.....just keep the updates coming. Before you know it the big one will be here.

The bottom line is some people bitch about #*$&@ no matter what. Sledders today are absolutely spoiled with the choices they have compared to not that many years back, yet some continue to piss and moan about everything. Buy and ride whatever you want, but if you're going to seriously say that *nothing* that Blue offers in 2016 (or previously) is worthy of your #*$&@, that seems a little ridiculous to me.
TLDR - Shut up and ride.

I am very curious to hear feedback on the new viper mtx tapered spindles...very cool looking, wonder if they function as good as yammi makes them sound. Likely on the AC mountain models too I expect

I actually like the Yamaha line up a lot. they have a lot of sled choices for every type of riding style. I think they are taking a step in the right direction. they are making improvements to their apex and vector and I think some of that technology will be introduced more in the next couple years. just makes me more excited for 2017 and 2018 because I will be in the market for a new sled by then. I don't get why everybody bitches. people don't get that it takes time to make a design, produce and test it. then tweek it. it takes a long time. should Yamaha have came out with their own chassis a couple years ago? yeah, but they kinda fell behind and now they are trying to play catch up. I do really like that singleshot rear suspension. looks like it would work way better than what is on my nyto.

If you want to hear bitching look at Dootalk a few years ago when they brought out the Ace 900.. But now it's OK with them.. Just like our Yammie models, give it a while to sink in.. I liked what they did to the Vector... MM.

I don't have the budget for a new sled now. But I'm quite happy with my Warrior. I think Yamaha designed a great sled back then and if money were no object I'd grab a new Apex for sure. I know how much I love my sled so I can only imagine how much I'd love the new ones. Also since I have a Yamaha 4 stroke with just under 10k miles I know I have many more miles in it so there is no hurry to get something different. I know it'll last as long as I want to keep it and I'll upgrade when I'm ready.

I honestly love the new apex. They are the Cadillac of snowmobiles, nothing beats the fit and finish of theses sleds, and with a MUCH needed new rear skid it makes this amazing sled better, also going out of the way, when I'm in the market for a new sled I hope the viper MTX with the 144 skid is still around, finally a yamaha ditch banger.
